This pink sandstone garden temple is cut from Bansi Paharpur stone and, as photographed, is 16 ft high on an 8 × 8 ft base. We make it for gardens and open outdoor areas. Pink Sandstone Garden Temple Design & Carving Details
Start from the ground. The temple stands on a raised stone platform, and a flight of steps goes up to the entrance. A carved stone railing follows the stairs and the edge of the platform.
The entrance is in the middle, under a carved arch. Thick carved pillars stand along the front, and between them bands of carving run across the façade, one above the other. The front is worked in layers, not left as one flat wall.
Carving carries on around the sides, with more panels and jali sections that leave parts of the wall open.
The roof goes up in steps, and the edge of each step projects a little, chhajja style. A dome sits above the last step, with a decorative finial at the very top. It is a dome, not a typical shikhara. The stone itself is a soft pink to rose, slightly different from block to block. There is no paint or gloss on it.

The temple in the photographs measures 8 ft by 8 ft at the base and is 16 ft high. For a smaller one, you can choose 5 × 5, 6 × 6 or 7 × 7 ft, with the same width and length in each. Height changes with the size and design, so a 5 × 5 ft temple will not simply be this one shrunk down.

We first pick Bansi Paharpur sandstone to match the approved size and design. Then the blocks are cut into the parts of the temple: pillars, panels, steps, roof sections and so on. Each part is made separately because large stone is hard to handle in one piece, and the fit is easier to get right this way.
CNC-supported carving is used where a pattern repeats or needs to be exact, like the carved bands and panels. Some detailed areas are carved by hand. After carving, the stone is finished and polished. This gives a cleaner surface, and the carving is easier to see.
Before dispatch, we check the components at our workshop for size, finish and fit. If something is wrong, we find it there and not at your site. After that, the parts are packed and sent.
